Amazon MP3 with Cloudplayer for Android
Company: Amazon
Timeline: Mar 2012 - Jun 2011
Role: UX Lead for Android app working with my UX manager who was responsible for web Cloud Player and the final visual design of the music ecosystem.
I began this project as Amazon had decided to expand upon the existing web and Android Amazon MP3 store to include a cloud locker solution for music purchases and uploads, complete with library and player functionality. I focused on the Android app. I gathered requirements and did a competitive analysis familiarizing myself with the world of smart phones and digital music on mobile. From sketches to wires to detailed specifications on states, behaviors and flows, I designed and documented the full app experience including app home, store browsing, purchasing, library architecture, play queue management, playlist creation and editing, downloading, and settings. I then worked with Android engineers throughout the implementation phase into launch. This foundational project set the stage for our continued growth and expansion into other platforms.
